Spot Gold Soars 2%+ to US$4,443, Hitting New High w/ Silver

Gold and silver prices rallied to new highs on Monday, as gold re-emerged as a safe haven asset.

Spot gold jumped up 2.4% to US$4,443.61 per ounce, marking a historical high. Gold futures for February delivery hiked US$93.3 or 2.1% to US$4,480.6 per ounce.

Silver futures for March delivery lifted 2.4% to US$69.09 per ounce.
