REDA Gathering Member Feedback on Comprehensive Smoking Ban at Construction Sites

The Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong (REDA), said that it is currently gathering feedback from members regarding a comprehensive smoking ban on construction sites. Further updates will be shared as appropriate. No meeting was held today (5th) to discuss the matter. A purported 'no smoking' notice from a construction site allegedly owned by HENDERSON LAND (00012.HK) has been circulating online. It states that any worker found with cigarette packs will be fined $5,000, immediately expelled from the site, and permanently banned from employment. Moreover, a spokesperson for CK ASSET (01113.HK) said that smoking has always been strictly prohibited on its construction sites, though designated smoking areas are provided for workers. Any worker caught smoking in violation of the rules will be dismissed and expelled from the site.
