SHANGSHAN GOLD (01939.HK) opened 1.6% higher at $1.91 this morning (4th), and once shot up 8.5% to a high of $2.04 in the early session before tossing.

The Group announced at noon that its controlling shareholder reduced stake, causing its share price drop to widen after midday. The stock last printed at $1.49, collapsing 20.74%, with a trading volume of 27.9886 million shares, involving $47.6608 million.

The Group announced at noon that its executive Director, Chairman of the Board and controlling shareholder, Huang Shikun, through ESSA Financial Group Limited (a company wholly owned by Huang), disposed of 41.408 million ordinary shares on Tuesday (2nd), representing approx. 8.09% of the Company's total issued share capital.

Immediately after the disposal, the number of shares ultimately owned by Huang decreased from 334 million shares to 293 million shares, reducing his shareholding ratio to approx. 57.19%. Huang and ESSA Financial Group Limited remain the controlling shareholders of the Company.
