The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) held a Cybersecurity Entrepreneurs Symposium urging leading companies to accelerate R&D of independent controlled security chips to break monopolies. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) spiked 15.7% to close at $131, while BABA-W (09988.HK) advanced 5.3%. Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) escalated 7.1% and 3%, while SENSETIME-W (00020.HK) soared 15.8%. KINGSOFT CLOUD (03896.HK) and GDS-SW (09698.HK) shot up 9.8% and 5.4%. JPMorgan's research report quoted JD-SW (09618.HK)'s management as saying that it would not pursue food delivery market share at any cost, boosting JD-SW's share price by 5.2%. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) also ballooned 4.9%. For other techs, TENCENT (00700.HK), XIAOMI-W (01810.HK), KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) jumped up 2.5-3.5%, while NTES-S (09999.HK) hiked 1.1%.
