CN 1H Renewable Energy Generation Rises 15.6% YoY, New Installations Surge 99.3%
2025-07-31 10:56:35 Pan Huimin, Deputy Director of the New Energy and Renewable Energy Department of the National Energy Administration, revealed at a press conference that renewable energy generation in China accounted for nearly 40% of the total national electricity generation, surpassing the combined electricity consumption of the tertiary industry and urban and rural residents. The newly added power generation from wind and solar sources also exceeded the increase in total social electricity consumption. In 1H25, China's renewable energy generation reached nearly 1.8 trillion kilowatt-hours, up 15.6% YoY, accounting for around 39.7% of total electricity generation. Renewable energy also maintained its dominant position in new installations during the period, accounting for nearly 60% of the total national installations.
