2025-07-02 09:33:34 Hong Kong stocks opened higher on the first trading day of 2H25. The HSI opened 232 points or 1% higher at 24,304. The HSCEI opened 95 points or 1.1% higher at 8,773. The HSTECH opened 56 points or 1.1% higher at 5,359. Macau's June GGR rose 19% YoY, beating forecasts and marking the second-highest month post-COVID-19. Casinos GALAXY ENT (00027.HK) and SANDS CHINA LTD (01928.HK) escalated 9% and 6%, while ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK) mounted 3.7% as it got approval from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange for the spin-off and listing of Zijin Gold International on the main board. For carmakers, LEAPMOTOR (09863.HK) jumped up 3.1% as its deliveries reached a record high of 48,000 units last month, while GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) leaped 4.8% as its total auto sales rose 42% YoY last month. LI AUTO-W (02015.HK)'s June deliveries slipped 11% MoM, with i8/ i6 to be released in July/ September, denting its share price by 0.7%. GAC GROUP (02238.HK) said its first model in cooperation with Huawei is expected to debut next year and GAC Aion is waiting for the right timing for planned Hong Kong IPO. Hence, its stock price opened flat at $2.87. Xiaomi Auto's deliveries in June exceeded 25,000 units, while YU7 will see launch of limited-time configuration change in mainland China.
