HSI Finishes Down 0.9%, 1H25 Gains 20%; LAOPU GOLD Closes Up ~15%; EMPEROR Series Subdued

The HSI grossed gains of 3.4% for June, gains of 4.1% for 2Q25, and gains of 20% in 1H25. The HSCEI sagged 84 points or 0.96% to 8,678, up approximately 19% in 1H25. The HSTECH dropped 38 points or 0.72% to 5,302, rallying about 18.7% in 1H25. Total market turnover whopped HKD242.234 billion.

For techs, BABA-W (09988.HK) fell off 2.1%; TENCENT (00700.HK) sank 1.9%, and MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) slid 3.2%. JINGDONG Coinlink Technology clarified it has not started issuing stablecoins, with JD-SW (09618.HK) down 1.8%. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) dipped 0.5%, while BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) rose 0.7%. NTES-S (09999.HK) and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) added 1.5% and 0.8%, respectively.

In financials, HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) edged down 0.1%, HKEX (00388.HK) eroded 0.6%, and AIA (01299.HK) lost 1.7%. Separately, XINYI SOLAR (00968.HK) soared 4.2%, being the top-performing blue-chip stock. LAOPU GOLD (06181.HK) spiked 14.9% as its lock-up period expired.

EMPEROR INT'L (00163.HK) disclosed a debt default, with its share price closing down 11.8%. Related companies EMPEROR CAPITAL (00717.HK) and EMPEROR CULTURE (00491.HK) tumbled 18.2% and 14.9%, while EMPEROR E HOTEL (00296.HK) and EMPEROR WATCH&J (00887.HK) dived 5.3% and 8.3%, respectively.
