MGTO: MO Avg. Daily Tourist Arrivals Grow ~39% YoY on First 2 Days of May Day Golden Wk
2024-05-03 11:59:00 Since the five-day May Day holiday in Mainland China began, tourists' hype in visiting Macau lingered, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said. The MGTO and the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT) have been ambitiously launching promotional campaigns and stepping up targeted publicity in response to the important holiday. They have amped up online and offline promotion of the diversified "Tourism Plus" through different means to expand visitor sources. According to provisional statistics, 272,800 visitor arrivals were recorded on the first two days of the Labor Day holiday (1-2 May), representing a daily average of about 136,400 visitor arrivals and an increase of 38.9% over the daily average of last year's Labor Day. The average hotel occupancy rate for the first two days of the May Day Golden Week surpassed 90%.
