Overseas Users Can Open WeChat Pay to Make Convenient Payments in RMB
2024-04-24 13:00:28 Under the guidance of the Digital Currency Research Institute of the People's Bank of China (PBOC), Tencent's e-CNY project team innovated features such as "barcode interoperability" and "wallet quick pay". After opening a e-CNY wallet, expatriates can use the e-CNY App to scan the commercial/ business money receiving QR code in WeChat Pay for payment to over 1 million merchants in the e-CNY pilot areas. The project team is jointly operated by Tenpay and WeBank. Users can open "WeChat Pay" under the wallet quick pay function.
